So here's the topic about Running of the Bulls, we have the tiles, and the background for the level in the game from Victorian Secret in Jazz Jackrabbit 2.

I think it's game maker friendly I don't know what size they are cutted, but all the tile parts could be cut into same pieces. What the level needs is bulls, and maybe a few authentic enemies, like JJ2 has only three type in this level, a Spanish frog with a sword, Female inhabitant Spanish frog, and yellow lizards in the sewers.
If somebody could rip these from the Pc game then we could have enemies, or if you know better enemies feel free to suggest it.
As it is described it's a short run part with bulls. The tiles are good enough for this and the sewer tiles are making the level able for having a small platforming part, and lso the tiles are really beautiful.
They just need to be separated or put together with the continuations of them.

I can construct a GM-friendly tileset out of that. Seems like it's all 32x32 tiles.

Now we'll wait for JDogindy to provide the bull sprites.

EDIT: I found actual Bull sprites.

This is from Sunset Riders for the SNES. Problem is, they overlap, so they're very hard to rip.

Good news.
The smaller buildings are background elements, and there are a few sky part also, but probably it would be better if you use your own sky backgrounds instead of these I think.

I think if it's possible to rip one bull then we don't need the others. If some part's missing of the bull we can rip it from another bull no the screen.

I found even better Bull sprites from the Arcade version of Sunset Riders. They were stored as tiles in the game, so I had to reconstruct the bulls tile-by-tile, but I managed to rip the full animation:

Especially if you're trying to keep yourself on the right side of the screen. I wouldn't be suprised to see many platforms/obstacles placed there by the Legion in order to distract you (think the chase scene from SSBB, when the Porky Statue is chasing you).

I don't think it would be possible to jump on the bulls, I mean the Pamplona Bull running is about to run away from the bulls, not on them. However the window tiles are also platforms so if there will be some run on the bulls it would be possible to jump on them fromt the window or from the roof.

Useless fact: Bulls are colorblind, they don't get mad because of the red color but because of the shaking move of the cape.

If you guys don't recognise some of the tiles, just tell me and then I can describe you which one made for what.

Looks like we might have to shrink the bulls down in size in the game. Unless you're willing to suspend disbelief, the bulls are bigger than the truck in Skyscraper Domain.

They look pretty good at half size. (In great proportion too! Mario's just a bit shorter than them.)

However, I've noticed that there's no sand in the level, so I'll have to remove the sand flying around the bull's feet.

Think of it as dust kicked up by the stampeding bulls.

What exactly is this resizing trick AkumaTH uses? My best guess is that he does a pixel resize then cleanup where necessary. I'd say about a 60-75% resize would be good, so that the bulls are imposingly big over the characters, but not too big like the original ripped size.

Pretty much anything that chases you in these chase sections will insta-kill you, like the Skyscraper Domain truck, the Bulls here, and the Moose Stampede in Yellowstone journey. Slower characters like Mario will get caught into them, so they'd die anyway when fully powered up. This also prevents Mario/Luigi from losing their reserve item (it will scroll off the screen really quick).

Actually, it's more like 80%, and then clean-up. Personally, I like to (Because obviously, some traits are lost due to pixel shortage) put back all those traits, just exaggerated a tiny bit. It looks nice.

That's how you get all those Genesis sprites the right size. I don't know how he figured it out, but it's damn perfect, really!

You know... couldn't you disable the autodrop for reserve items?

Or better yet put that as part as a toggle option in the HQ.

Also small bulls looks like young bulls. And there are no young bulls at Bull Runing, I mean just full-grown bulls, because they aget killed at the end of the running, by matadors, in the stadium. (Pretty unnecessary violent.)

That gives me an idea.
Fake bossfight: You'll meet with a matador at the end of the stage, he will get a lifebar and the fight is just about to start, when the big amount of bulls showing up again and running throught the screen, you jump up on a ledge and the bull horde is trampling through the matador. It's a revenge of the bulls, what the matador deserves.

Matador, eh?

Maybe we can find a good spriteset for Vega from Street Fighter II or other games to use. If Pocket Fighter or Super Puzzle Fighter has mini-Vega sprites, he'd be perfect.
