QUOTE (Bloodgrey @ Nov 6 2009, 10:32 AM)
However those who didn't, will not, also how I think it's not like other run section didn't have easly recogniseable enemies, like at the run part of Yellowsotne journey

How many people you know play Mario fangames who never played the real Mario games? And the enemies in the RUN part of Yellowstone have been used numerous times in the 6 areas leading to the buffalo area, so at that point, those enemies ARE recognizable.

Running of the Bulls is a straight up RUN section with no lead-in areas. You cannot punish the new player by forcing him to familiarize himself with new enemies in a intense level like RotB.

Hey JS, did you received my level of Gemini Wing? Yes, I know, what I am saying has nothing to do with this topic ...

Here is the Flamenco Goomba.

http://mkfusion.ipbfree.com/index.php?show...ndpost&p=125774

I took a listen to the theme from Just Cause, which a commenter on the video suggested, and I think it could work.

Almost all music suggestions I got ended up being too slow for RotB. I did my own searching and found this:

"Mucho Gusto" from Ragnarok Online

This is probably the closest to what I want that matches the Happy Feet score.

Lol JS, all I can think about when I hear that song is "Oh hey, I'm hearing a happy song while getting chased by ANGRY BULLS", yeah I find it unfitting for such an intense stage tongue.gif

Hmm, what Brian probably meant was this much shorter and IMO better version:

(kinda crappy quality)

I've been checking for some songs I could remember, one game immediately came to mind (Conker aside): Total Overdose.

Especially THIS one:

I can't remember any other songs that could fit, but those should be decent picks

If this is supossed to be a Spain themed level, espesific in "La Pamplonada" then Molotov music will not fit in, serious, i really like the group, and that song is just awesome, but why dont make it more traditional, i think that one of the best songs that can be choisen for this is Gerudo Valley from ZeldaOOT, because it is "Guitarra Flamenca" it even has the chestnuts, the only problem is that the song will be repeated but i dont think it is too big...

I scoured Youtube and Newgrounds for a Gerudo Valley remix already. There just aren't any that give off the danger vibe or are fast enough for this stage.

Listen to these 2 please:

The first one has cool intro, but isn't that fast in my opinion. The second one is just great for it I think.

I think at this point, I will finalize the BGM for RotB as the current "Bob's Led" from the Happy Feet movie score. I know we at MKF have made a rule about video game-only music, but an exception would be made here. Nothing else that has been suggested so far comes even close to the current BGM, as an overwhelming majority of them are far too slow and lack the intensity and rush that this level has. "Bob's Led" fits RotB perfectly.

So, consider RotB the first level that does not use video game music as its BGM.

What? The Just Cause track is close enough, IMO. It's got a great buildup, it has a very Spanish feel, and it short & sweet, like the level itself.

Aura did say that there might not be an equally fitting track. I half-expected Judge to make this exception. I'd say the exception is very well-informed.

Honestly I think that last one from Sunset Riders is a lot more intense, it feels like OMFG I'm going to die. It doesn't sound too spanish though, but it's still great. Oh well, the gameplay is the most important thing here anyway, and the level only lasts around 1 minute I don't think the music is that important, I so want to play this level biggrin.gif

The second if you want to count "Wizards in Winter" from Sho's Santa's Workshop level. Or has that been cancelled?

Whoa, I think this level could use an item and enemy upgrade.

I don't mind the non-vgmusic choice, but I agree it should definitely be an exception to the rule and not an option.

Before committing to this decision, I'd at least consider re-using the buffalo stampede music from Yellowstone. It at least a vaguely spanish vibe to it; and if it's good enough for buffalo, I think it's good enough for bulls.

I would need to hear the song myself and see if I can come up with anything. Chances are, one of the songs from the SNES Speedy Gonzalez game (of all things) could be used in lieu of the Bob's Led (Bob's Sled?) song. But I don't recall the score from Happy Feet, so I wouldn't know. I need to hear it first.

Also... that last video. Is it me, or does the music sound off? Speed is picked up, then slowed back to regular speed.

Okay, please no more discussion about the music. I've made my decision, and it's the Happy Feet one.
