| QUOTE (JudgeSpear @ Nov 6 2009, 09:38 AM) | | QUOTE (Bloodgrey @ Nov 6 2009, 10:32 AM) | | However those who didn't, will not, also how I think it's not like other run section didn't have easly recogniseable enemies, like at the run part of Yellowsotne journey |
How many people you know play Mario fangames who never played the real Mario games? And the enemies in the RUN part of Yellowstone have been used numerous times in the 6 areas leading to the buffalo area, so at that point, those enemies ARE recognizable.
Running of the Bulls is a straight up RUN section with no lead-in areas. You cannot punish the new player by forcing him to familiarize himself with new enemies in a intense level like RotB.

Lol JS, all I can think about when I hear that song is "Oh hey, I'm hearing a happy song while getting chased by ANGRY BULLS", yeah I find it unfitting for such an intense stage Hmm, what Brian probably meant was this much shorter and IMO better version: (kinda crappy quality) I've been checking for some songs I could remember, one game immediately came to mind (Conker aside): Total Overdose. Especially THIS one: I can't remember any other songs that could fit, but those should be decent picks

Listen to these 2 please: The first one has cool intro, but isn't that fast in my opinion. The second one is just great for it I think.

| QUOTE (JudgeSpear @ Nov 7 2009, 10:05 AM) | I think at this point, I will finalize the BGM for RotB as the current "Bob's Led" from the Happy Feet movie score. I know we at MKF have made a rule about video game-only music, but an exception would be made here. Nothing else that has been suggested so far comes even close to the current BGM, as an overwhelming majority of them are far too slow and lack the intensity and rush that this level has. "Bob's Led" fits RotB perfectly.
So, consider RotB the first level that does not use video game music as its BGM. |
What? The Just Cause track is close enough, IMO. It's got a great buildup, it has a very Spanish feel, and it short & sweet, like the level itself.

Honestly I think that last one from Sunset Riders is a lot more intense, it feels like OMFG I'm going to die. It doesn't sound too spanish though, but it's still great. Oh well, the gameplay is the most important thing here anyway, and the level only lasts around 1 minute I don't think the music is that important, I so want to play this level

Before committing to this decision, I'd at least consider re-using the buffalo stampede music from Yellowstone. It at least a vaguely spanish vibe to it; and if it's good enough for buffalo, I think it's good enough for bulls.
