Full Version: How do I correctly use Block Trains?
Prims
Okay, I've been using block trains in some levels I've been making, but according to the people testing them they aren't working right. I looked at Boo Mansion and I'm pretty sure I'm putting the arrows in the wrong places, but I have no idea how to place them correctly.

Think of the arrows like bumpers. The Block Train will never overlap an arrow. They will bounce off and change direction to the arrow's facing. Basically, place the arrows in the direct path of the block train if you want them to change direction.

Here's Boo Mansion's Block Train room, with the exact path it takes illustrated:

Oh, so that is how you do it.

I wanted to have a block train in my Castle Wolfenstein level but I couldn't get it to work properly so I used a P-Switch bridge instead. There is a block train in my Dinosaur Land level as I only needed it to stay in the same direction until the end.

Just wondering, any reason those spikes there don't hurt you?

there are two objects occupying the same spot...the spikes and the collision objects

the spikes do the damage and the collision blocks are collided with so you don't just fall to your doom if you touch spikes

Actually psycho, the spikes themselves are part of the tileset, they only hurt you if the collision object ... obj_hurtmario?... is there.
