I have a few ideas for this...

we have the LOZ fire rod, what about the ice rod?

a very rare (and very low ammo) spartan laser. pierces anything and deals massave dammage. still requires a chargeup, though.

a handheld bullet bill cannon, initaly carried by a shy guy or somthing, but you can kill him and yoink it.

the BFG! why not, if we're going to have an area based on doom?

the gravity gun. you can pick up blocks, shells, some enemies, and some projectiles with it, then shoot them whenever you want. you can't take it from screen to screen though. maybe a boss fight could be based on this! if you don't want to do this, put in a different HL2 weapon, maybe the crowbar or the pulse rifle.

that's all I have for now, what can you think up?
Hyper Shadic
What's this doing in character ideas and suggestions? huh.gif
mr3urious
I do agree on the ice rod. Part of a Super Metroid level I suggested will make use of the freezing mechanic with the Rippers.
Paulomedi
Even better if it's a short-range weapon.
naton9
a gravety gun could be useful for solving puzzles

also- im for anything that puts a bullet bill canon into mario's hands happy.gif
Maximus
Please... HL2 weapons are not a good option for this game... But that is only my opinion... (I even can't imagine Mario using a gravity gun... Luigi I can... for I have already seen Luigi handling out one in Gmod XD )

My only idea... A Metal Slug tank... I mean, we have seen some Metal Slug action in the game... why not a Metal Slug tank?

One thing... If this could come true... I belive Yoshi could be seen as a weapon... yes, a pick-up weapon... But that's another story :S

chain saws
The Qu
The DOOM Chainsaw is planned. IT'll be able to knock down special barriers.

Used and I are planning to incorporate it into our Serra level.
cyberkid
Portal gun. (For the portal level)

Master Weapon guns. (Could be usefull for puzzles)

Omochao Cannon. (Press the Ctrl button to... WAIT NO!!!!)

EvilMariobot
Demon Laser Rifle from Doom 64.
Kilometers Persecond
The Lancer!

To elaborate: holding fire would consume ammunition to rapid-fire relatively weak shots, but holding run would rev the chainsaw and ramming an enemy with a revved chainsaw would kill even the large enemies. Obviously the chainsaw doesn't work on bosses.
Paulomedi
A breakable melee weapon.

A continuous laser when fired it drains your time meter, and it cannot be stopped.

On the same note, a powerful energy beam that uses the char's life-force to power itself up, each shot draining one heart.

Decoy weapons with subtle differences that backfire when used.

The Lancer!

That would be perfect for me and Qu's level!
Megaron
The Hero's bow from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess!
Jtipton
An explosive-firing weapon that can hurt you if you point-blank someone with it and get caught in the blast radius. Because overkill that bites both ends is fun...Tasty, strategic fun.

Also? The Boktai Solar gun. If for no other reason than if you can make the Metal Slug 'weapon GET!' sounds play, I would love to hear random "TAIYO!!" shouts. Or we could get the MGS4 "SUNLIGHT!" a la Snake.
Ultimate Gamer
The Black Alien weapons from Shadow the Hedgehog, considering those would be the guns I'll be using in my level.
Murph9935
EDIT: ignore this
Clark
Seriously, The Wepon and a Hammerspring need to be in - World.
keiang
I think it would help if you guys would post video/pics of the weapons. I have no idea what half of you are talking about, or what some weapons do.
canadiansaiyan
The plasma rifle from Fallout. The original Fallout, not 3. I don't know if it's in 3 or not, I haven't played it yet. Anyway it nicely melts the flesh of your enemies leaving a nice little pile of goo and bones (assuming you enemy has bones).

agree completely! this is my second favorite weapon af all time, but no. 1 is...

DUN DUN DUNN!!!

fatman nuclear grenade launcher!

1 ammo

works just like the raider boms, but destroys thr enemis from a giant radiuss(way off screen, but not the entire area). the moment thr bomb touches the land, the explosion blinds you for about 2 seconds, then, the screen is blank of the enemis(and the nearby area).

editional suggestion-
maybe the nuclear blast could destroy rocks or some ;land with its radius? that would do nicely for some puzzles...
jacco
The keyblade:)
canadiansaiyan
How about the Redeemer from Unreal Tournament? You know, the gun that launches a small nuclear warhead? The one that you have to fire and then run like hell so that you don't end up killing yourself with your own gun. laugh.gif
T-Time2010
Portal Gun (because it's wondeful)

Lancer( for theused's level)

Black Arms Guns (for ultimategamer's level)

Hammer of Dawn (because it would make some boss fights more interesting, and theused might want it for his level)

A falcon punch glove. allows charecters to perform a FALCON PAUNCH! short range but for MASSIVE DAMAGE!

In the Smash Bros games... the damage for the punch is surprisingly unremarkable... dry.gif

I mean its a longer windup than a smash attack, for less damage! unsure.gif

and it would be AWESOME!

Thats a little too much.

F.L.U.D.D.: Infinite ammo, no damage, but stuns enemies, puts put fires, and can be charged for a damaging attack.

This has my support.

How about the Disk Blade Gun, Shock Cannon, and Tesla Claw from the Ratchet and Clank series, and the SPEW and Rivet Gun from Metal Arms: Glitch In the System?

I think this might be a good one, what would you think about the grenade launcher from the Quake games?

The weapon, when taken, would have around 8 grenades (or shots) and would work like it does in every Quake game, it throws a grenade at a medium distance, if the grenade touches an enemy it explodes, if not, it bounces 2 times on the floor and blows 3 seconds later with a bigger explosion that deals a lot of damage. There arent many low resolution pictures to make a sprite from, but there are some images to have a base from:

user posted imageuser posted imageuser posted image

The images above are the best i found from the Quake 3 grenade launcher, the next one is the one from Quake 2.

user posted image

And for last, the Grenades have always looked like this, i think the sprite would be quite simple, a dark brown round square with a red line (i know i know nothing is easy it takes work dont flame pls)
user posted image

Maybe for programing it the kinetics of the shots would be like when a MK Fusion character throws a SMB2 item (vegetables, bombs) while running? And for the detonation time it would possibly be like the SMB2 bombs? Sorry for my programing ignorance i'm newb, whoever is in charge of making weapons, i really think this could be a good idea for one
MONEYMAN
Robot Master Power Guns.
enclave_mike
how about a convetant carabine? 18 shots, shoots just like machine gun, but slower, and it's projectiles are green. lotsa damage.
Mini-Yoshi
ShotGun: This could be really powerful, except that it would have recoil biggrin.gif
EGGLAWNCHAIR: Self Explainitory
Catipult:1 Ammo, fires character at enemies till stopped by something solid.
keiang
We already have a shotgun and the Buffalo Lawnchair is just going to be a gag weapon in the minus world.
Mini-Yoshi
I wasn't talking about a BUFFALOLAWNCHAIR clone, I was talking about a gun that that was aimable to fire Yoshi Eggs (should've explained that one), and I didn't know 'bout the shotgun sad.gif

keiang
Well, the shotgun is in the Library, you can play with it a bit there. As for the EGGLAWNCHAIR, I'd really suggest going with a different name, or at least changing it to Egg Launcher, as it did sound a bit like you were aiming for a BUFFALOLAWNCHAIR, but with eggs.
Mr. Röbötö
an electric guitar: with unlimited ammo, and shoots music notes. for, uh, the minus world?

This.

Also, some type of minigun would be awesome.

Ninja stars- The character can throw Shuriken, Shuriken come 10 to a set.

Sprites fourthcoming.

In regards to the Huge McBoom Guns (i.e. weapons like the BFG 9000, The Redeemer, Turok's Chronscepter and Nuke), why not have 'em in parts that need to be collected over the course of the level to use?

It'd be tedious, I know, and I'm not even sure the mechanic could be implemented, but it's an idea I find interesting.

Indeed. Like I said, it's just an idea.

Something that WOULD be interesting, though, would be "antithesis"-type weapons. To put it another way, you know how the Mega Man Robot Masters/Mavericks are especially vulnerable to certain weapons? Same idea. However, you need to find the murderous weapon first, which would be somewhere in the level.

Perhaps a "joke" weapon that is actually weaker than just about any other attack in the game would be a worthwhile addition to the game? I'm thinking the Klobb from Goldeneye. >_>
TheomanZero
Golden Hammer: Fast and powerful melee weapon. Swing rapidly in midair to hover. Could have interesting puzzle-solving applications.

This.

Goldeneye NEEDS representation. Best SHMUP game on the 64 game ever.

Goldeneye isn't a Shmup, it's a First-person Shooter.

On the subject at hand, I believe the Klobb was created specifically for the game. It's name comes from Ken Lobb who worked on the game. Still, it wouldn't matter if it was in the movie if it's a real-world weapon.

Well,I'm sorry if all these names and crap confused me. I thought First Person Shooters counted as SHMUPs. dry.gif

Even so,YES! Klobb away!
psychokiller
Well, a five minute wikipedia search turned up that the Klobb is not a real world weapon itself, but is based on this weapon. That weapon is a real weapon. I can't say for sure if it was in the Goldeneye movie, but the Klobb as is certainly is not. It's a game original, as EvilMarioBot said, named after Ken Lobb, so... I think that qualifies, but, of course, feel free to correct me if I am wrong. unsure.gif

Personally, I'd just be amused to see the thing be in and take, like, eight bullets just to bring down a goomba. >_>

Is it really that weak? (Always uses infinite ammo and all guns cheats and uses rocket launchers)
psychokiller
I may be exaggerating a little, but it was pretty weak. Weak enough to be useless in multiplayer, especially.
