Full Version: Game won't start...a message about drawing surface
Anchang-Style
Well i got a problem with starting Mushroom Kingdom Fusion.
After loading a message appears saying the folowing:
"Failed to initialize drawing surfaces. Please check that your graphics card meets the minimum requirement and that your drivers are up to date. If your graphics card has little memory, try switching your computer to a lower resolution".
My laptop got a Geforce 8800M GTS which should more or less come along well with the game. The driver is at version: 1.5.700.60. My desktop resu is at 1680*1050@32 Bit. Already tried compitability modes and running it in 640*480 without effect. Any clues?

My brother has the same problem with his laptop. It's just your graphics card is not powerful enough to run not only MKF but other GM games as well. You will need to update your computer before you can successfully play MKF. Sorry for the bum news. :/ But welcome to the forums! We hope you stick around.

You sure its my Graphics adapter? i mean it's quite powerfull...i mean running UT 3 maxed out, Crysis on high all the way through, F3 on max. Ok its last gen GPU (Geforce 8800 but i don't think KMF uses too mich DX10 features does it? I think it got 512 or even 7**MB of own DDR2 Graphics RAM...should be enough).
Sadly i wasn't able to find any problem related hread neither here nor anywhere else by google search...

Isn't dx10 natively vista specific?

I'm pretty sure mkf wasn't designed with dx10 features or compatibility in mind.
Your card is definitely strong enough,so i cannot even imagine what your problem would be.

With DX10 was more meant jokingly (since DX 10 is the hardware killing feature for which this card is definitly too slow...but which isn't). I know it's not used so i can't imagine what's the problem too. hmmm damn

or you could just follow what the error message says to do and switch to a lower resolution.

I tried already (oh forgot that) in 640*480
