Full Version: W4/2-whatever: Temen-ni-gru Trail
The Qu
In Devil May Cry 3, Temen-ni-gru is a tower that connects the Demon World with the Human World, and vice versa. The game goes as far as calling it not so much a tower, but a tunnel. So, sounds like a great level to connect Alternate Earth with the Demon Realm, eh?

LEVEL

Part 1: The tower
The first part of the level is the the base of the tower. You climb up the tower ala Grand Canyon- what I call a tower level. if you fall, you free fall until you reach something. I don't plan on there being any pits in this section- the only way to die is to be defeated by an enemy. More on them later, BTW. One of the sections in Temin-ni-gru had gears in DMC3. Perhaps we could include something along those lines to make it more interesting.

At the top of the first level is an elevator. Obreck has coded them in for his Energy Zone level, so we can use his code for this part. Enemies jump down onto the elevator and you have to defeat them to go on.

Part 2: The garden
The strangeest part of the tower in DMC3, this is a large garden area. The area consists of stone bridges over water. The area will be represented by a room made of crumbling stone bridges. If the player falls into the water, they will be injured. Its demon water, y'know? Can't be heatlhy. I don't have much planned for this sectoin ATM.

Part 3: A Cold Place
After the garden, the player exits through a portal into an icy looking area. This is Hell, or something close to it. The area is a surreal area with rock pieces floating in nothingness. Enemies relentlessly attack. The only area I have planned ATM is the chessboard. If you've played DMC3, you know what I'm talking about. The sprites that can be used for the Knights are here.

Enemies

Devil May Cry 3's most common enemies are based on the Seven Deadly Sins. To show this, I plan on using the same enemeis as the Circus of Sin. Here are my tentetive enemies.

Lust: Mannequin from Symphoney of the Night
Pride: The Circus level has clowns, but I dunno if I like that.
Wrath: The Circus level has Sweet Tooth, but we need a regular enemy.
Greed: The Gold Skeleton from Castlevania. We need someone to rip it from Portrait of Ruin for us though.
Sloth: I have no idea.
Gluttony: Skeletons were planned for the Circus, but with the new Greed enemy, we need a new one methinks.
Ency: The Coppelia was planned. Not a bad idea, but I don't see how that's envy.

Also. red orbs can be skins for the coins.

Lulz, ency.

On topic: The original play, "Coppelia" is about a scientist who created a life-like doll. During the play, one of the characters dresses up as the doll to show the scientist the error of his ways. I'm guessing this shows a bit of envy, at least to me anyways.

This enemy Would be great for Wrath. Or you could make references to the Four Horsemen instead? I'd say do both.
The Qu
Oddly enough, ActRaiser 2 had bosses based on the Seven Deadly Sins. The one you linked was the one for Sloth!

Sloth? Wow. I thought he looked more like Wrath to me. Oh well!

Come to think of it, a lot of Actraiser enemies would be good for this level, even though you are trying to go for Devil May Cry.

Sadly Devil May Cry means custom spriting but yeah actraiser stuff would work
